Standing Committees

May contain: adult, male, man, person, female, woman, computer, electronics, tablet computer, laptop, pc, accessories, glasses, chair, furniture, and wristwatch

Joshua Basin Water District has several standing committees (also known as standing advisory committees). Standing committee meetings are open to the public and meet on a regular schedule. The President of the Board may appoint two Directors to each committee or may rotate directors at their discretion.

To preserve Board integrity, committees are used sparingly, only when other methods have been deemed inadequate.  Committees are not used to  interfere with the wholeness of the Board's job. Board Committees may not speak or act for the Board except when formally given such authority for specific and time-limited purposes.  Such authority is carefully stated in order not to conflict with authority delegated to the General Manager.
